This is a wonderful ONE-OF-A-KIND Artist handcrafted black cloth doll with a primitive look. It was made by a very talented Southern Belle lady who specializes in handmade cloth dolls! The face with beautiful handpainted facial features, arms and feet have all been oil painted which gives the fabric a stiff "canvas" feel to it. Her hands have been individually sewed giving seperate fingers. Her black yarn hair is very tightly braided and then twisted onto the back of her head with longer braided loops on either side. A small piece of fabric is tied on top that matches her dress. Her brown floral cotton dress has matching pantaloons underneath and a pretty contrasting blue checked apron on top that ties in the back. She used a tiny old vintage pin attached onto her chest. The unique tan felt hat is also completely handmade with a soft feather sticking up in the front. It is attached with pins that can be removed if you'd like. I've photographed her with and without the hat so you can see her pretty braided hair. She stands 9-1/2" in height without her hat and 5" sitting and is signed by the Artist on the front foot.
