I have had this framed file for numerous years and it's time to part with it. I had it appraised and this is the response I got.Many files of this kind are on vellum and are legal deeds of transfer relative to estates and homes and are of a civil nature.You have an original declaration document which indicated the act of contribution was officially recognized (and valued) at the time-- generally, a legal recording of the act. The real value is not a lot for the content of the file, but for the seal and signature. Between 1809 and 1811, Napoleon's empire stood at its biggest extent.At present, pieces such as this normally retail from $2,500 to $3,500 on the open collector market.If you know the market, purchase it and make yourself some fast money. I would like the 1500.00 obviously, however will take Best Offer.
