Patented 1908 Antique Leedy 13" Wood Snare Drum with Original Heads

This is an excellent-condition original Leedy wooden snare drum that has a June 2, 1908 patent date on the strainer lever. It looks like the rims and the main shell are 2 different types of wood or possibly just stained different colors. The snare drum is a 13" x 3" with the 6 original lugs. Looks to be the original top head and definitely the original bottom head. The bottom head has a stamp that reads "Leedy UKA Drum Head." The bottom head is excellent. The top has typical wear but both are in very nice shape.This drum is very straight, no warps. The hoops are very round. The only small flaw I see is the metal strips that go around has a small indentation in the middle where the metal bands sit inside but it probably needs just a little bit of glue so that it stays in position. I'm sure originally they were glued in but overtime the glue has dried out.The drum looks complete. It even has the original strainer and sneer. It looks like they put a piece of tape just behind the strainer so that it didn't scratch the wood. This can easily be removed. This is one of the nicer examples I have seen.Please ask if you have any questions. Check out my eBay store for more neat and obscure antiques.
