Potted Silver Maple Trees-5 foot plus-$60 or 5 for $285 Hi guys! Daisy Girl here, with a very nice yard tree for your consideration. It's the Silver Maple, and wow what a lovely tree, especially it's pretty leaves. If your needing a very FAST growing tree, and love Maples like I do, the Silver Maple would be an excellent choice! Silver Maple: These trees are absolutely BEAUTIFUL maples and VERY hardy for our area. (I have a large one in the yard and have for years). The leaves are very pretty and ornate looking for sure. They are a very fast growing maple which is great for big shade trees in a hurry! This tree will reach a mature height of about 60 feet with a lovely rounded crown and a very attractive bark. Really a nice looking tree for your yard! The autumn color of this tree is equally as lovely, sporting a long lasting golden yellow fall foliage. As far as the growing conditions of this tree, or what it likes best .....I would have to say full to part sun and well drained soils would be its favorite. On our ranch here we have a mixture of loam or loamy/clay with some sandy areas, and this trees does well in all these conditions. The only thing that I don't recommend for this tree is super high wind areas, because of this trees very fast growth, the limbs can be subject to breakage. If you have a protected or semi protected area to plant your prize, you shouldn't have any problem. This trees historical value is also quite interesting. In the day, the Native Americans boiled the twigs of this tree to make black dye! So if you're an artsy crafty person like mice-elf, you could also try making your own dye. And just like the SUGAR MAPLE tree (which I also sell by-the-by) the Silver Maple sap can also be tapped to make your own maple syrup! I have a very nice selection of these lovely maples in the $60 size or 5 for $285. They are 5 foot and taller in size (not including the pot of course), potted and ready to pot into your landscape!
