Amazing child-sized or miniature sugar chest, with Tennessee or Kentucky origin. Family lore holds this was stored in a barn for many years until I purchased it from the estate.The chest is made of figured cherry with poplar secondary, hinged lid with original iron hinges opening to a divided interior over a single dovetailed drawer on turned legs. Construction of meticulous detail and extremely well built with all sides of the case displaying dovetailing. Overall very good condition with no repairs. Retains original dry surface with a few surface flaws from age and storage. Back case with lovely age appropriate oxidation. Hinges with light surface rust. Lid missing lock plate and no key comes with the lot, but they should be easy to source. Piece measures approx 19-1/4 in high x 11 x -1/2 in. wide.A premium example which will be nearly impossible to upgrade. Please ask any questions you may have about this wonderful piece.
