Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 is part of the 70 denier range of Classic Waxed Threads (CWT) which have been designed specifically for fly tying for midges, emergers and dry flies. Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 usually used on hook sizes 10 to 20. Many tyers are moving to our 12/0 thread in preference to traditional 8/0 because it is still strong with a breaking strain of 489gm (17.25oz) but presents a thinner profile thread. Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 threads are unique; laying flat with a two core construction but can easily be split to create dubbing loops and they are strong threads. We worked with our Pro Team to get the correct amount of wax on each thread to hold materials but not clog your bobbin holder.
