Picked this up at a local sale. We were told it was a chair used during the Civil War Era so people could easily travel with these adorable wooden folding chairs but we cannot confirm it. Chair is in good vintage shape. There is a blemish on one of the sides of the chair as seen in the photos. Looks like it is a repaired seem. See photos for further condition details. From an antique website: Folding rocking chairs were popular starting in the 1870s (Civil War 1861-1865). They come in a variety of styles, but are recognized by their ability to fold the back down to the seat.
