I'm cleaning out a long closed Western Ma. luthier shops inventory and will be selling a lifetime collection of mostly vintage musical instruments and parts. Today I have a Gibson ES 125 guitar finger board with all its original frets and inlays Including the side dots. The scale length is 24.75 The finger board was taped to a bard to keep it flat and it worked well. We took off the tape and cleaned most of residue off for the photos. It is of course Brazilian rosewood. The frets a the small 50's, or older type. The board itself has some playing wear . Especially in the cowboy chord spot.You can see that the Gibson guys "toothed" the glue side back in the day. While this is marked ES125 I'm fairly confident that this would be fine for any vintage Gibson guitar with the same scale length.and number of frets.The nut width is 1 11/16" and the body end is 2 3/16" The fingerboard looks to have been removed carefully with one chip on the underside at the nut end ( but not visible from the top ) and some top wood down at the other end. If you are looking at this you know what they're getting for Brazilian blanks, this ones vintage , it's fretted and inlaid, Perfect for a restoration. I hope some luthier out there can find a use for this. Please look at all the photos. Please note I am not a vintage guitar expert and I am going mostly from notes left on items.
