Adorable Porcelain Pooch (Maltese or Fox Terrier?) with Big Red Bow And look at that stance! This is a 40s or 50s variation of a "spaghetti" porcelain. Marked Made in Japan. Size: 5" high and 5" long. Condition. Nice Vintage. Though adorable, this dear old dog has issues: (1) First, his front right leg was broken and glued at some point. Fortunately it blends into the pattern and isn't noticeable except on close inspection. Also the repair is quite sturdy. The dog is somewhat heavy but stands firmly. No chance of the repair deteriorating. (2) Second, pieces of the spaghetti fur have broken off in several places. Thankfully, this again isn't noticeable except on close inspection due to the fur pattern and variation in color that hide the flaws. I've taken a lot of photos so that you may see the flaws which really do blend into the fur and color pattern, but this piece isn't for the collector looking for a perfect piece. Still, a Darling Find.
