Great watercolor painting of a woman dressed in the style of the 1930s leaning out of a Balitmore rowhouse window. Painting by Walter E Cohen (1912- 2004), a Baltimore native who studied at Maryland Institute College of Art. Painting measures 7" by 10.5". Bears artist's cipher lower right and artist's estate stamp on reverse. While the subject matter is 1930s or 1920s I believe the painting was executed later. Excellent condition. Purchased with group of paintings from the artist's estate. Cohen was a longtime resident of Bergen County NJ, born in 1912 in Baltimore and was an honorary graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art. He was involved in advertising, fine art and was also a writer.
